Its Launched from Earth seven months ago, the UAE’s Hope probe has reached orbit around the planet, becoming the fifth space-faring country to go into space after the United States, the Soviet Union, Europe and India. UAE scientists can now study the planet’s atmosphere. The probe carries three instruments that will monitor, among other objectives, how neutral atoms of hydrogen and oxygen, the remnants of abundant water from Mars, seep into space.
